Frequently Asked Questions About Glasses Reglazing

You've probably got a few questions that you'd like answering before ordering your glasses reglaze. We've listed the most frequently asked questions below.

Should you require any help at all please do not hesitate to get in touch via the live chat button or send us an email to info@justgoodglasses.co.uk

Q: What types of frames can you reglaze?

A: We can reglaze all standard glasses and most sunglasses. We cannot reglaze high wrap frames or frames that we're not designed to be glazed with prescription lenses. Should this be the case when we receive your frames we will give you the choice to send an alternative frame or cancel the order.

Q: Can you reglaze varifocals?

A: Yes we can. If your existing frames are glazed with varifocals that were fitted for you, albeit with an older prescription, we can take the fitting measurements from the old lenses. If not, then you would need to supply a varifocal fitting photo with your frames. Please see our Varifocal Fitting information page.

Q: How long does it take to have my glasses reglazed?

A: This depends on the lens options that you choose. You can check the lens side of our Delivery Times page for an indication of how long they will take. Standard single vision lenses can be dispatched the following day that we receive your frames.

Q: What if my prescription is out of range?

A: We recommend that you upload your prescription when ordering or email it to us immediately after ordering. When we process your order we will check the prescription details and let you know if there is a problem or if a surcharge would apply. We can do this before you post your glasses to us giving you the option to cancel or accept the charge. Should you choose to send the prescription with the glasses then we will not be able to inform you of this until your glasses arrive.

Q: What happens if my frame breaks during glazing?

A: We take great care in reglazing your glasses and we inspect every frame before attempting a reglaze. However, some flaws in your frame may not be visible on inspection and so, as with all reglazing, this has to be done at your own risk. Should this happen we will give you the option to send in another frame for glazing or cancel and refund your order, we will also return the frame to you if required.

Q: Why is it more expensive for rimless reglazing?

A: Rimless glasses cannot be glazed with standard 1.5 index lenses as they are not strong enough for drilling and mounting. The additional price for rimless reglazing includes a fee for the extra work required in tracing & plotting the drill holes required and the cost of the thinner but stronger 1.6 Hi Index lens option.

Q: Can I order and send my frames once you have the lenses?

A: Unfortunately no. We physically require your frames to make sure that we order the correct lens blank/size.

Q: Where do I send my glasses?

A: After you have placed your order we will confirm your prescription by email. Once you have received the confirmation please send your glasses direct to our glazing lab at: JustGoodGlasses, Unit 34, Longworth Ave, Coppull, Chorley, Lancashire, PR7 4PL.
